Why This Reference Exists
Printed Statesboro directories ended long ago, but the records behind local research remain. Ownership is documented by the Bulloch County assessor and Superior Court clerk. Voter information is controlled by Georgia law. The Statesboro-Bulloch County Library preserves three digitized Polk editions, newspaper microfilm, and more than 1,000 public-history files. We bring together the verified portals, office contacts, coverage limits, and request rules needed to navigate those separate sources.
What the Directory Includes
- Pages by angle: the street directory (address-keyed records), the city directory (the historical shelf), and the resident lookup (one-person searches)
- The rolls and offices: assessor, recorder, elections office, court clerk, vital records, the library's local history collection
- Walkthroughs: how to trace who lives on a street, how to read a directory entry, how to follow a household across the decades
- Access rules: what Georgia law opens, what stays closed, and how a records request works when something is not online
